In September 2015, the United Nations' SDGs for sustainable development goals was adopted. In the sanitation field, target 6.3 "Halving the ratio of untreated wastewater by 2030" was set up. It is expected that the demand of distribution in wastewater treatment will be further enhanced in the future.
This workshop encouraged the networking of stakeholders and the understanding of the legal framework and operation and maintenance (O&M) system within the main Asian countries through sharing the good practice and experience on the decentralized domestic wastewater treatment system. The aim of this workshop was contributing to achieve the SDG 6.3 in each country.
